Music Development Plan

Our Music Development Plan

All schools should have a music development plan, as set out in the national plan for music.

It is our intent at Queen’s Park that ‘all children are musicians’. Children are afforded the opportunity to enjoy and practise music both in and out of the classroom through an array of extra-curricular musical experiences from choir and orchestra to guitar and brass lessons. Children learn about composers through their ‘musical journey; they learn to play, read and compose music and opportunities are sought for our children to showcase their musical talents wherever possible. The building blocks for music are implemented in the EYFS and our children develop a love and enthusiasm for music year-on-year. Our intent is that every pupil leaves Queen’s Park having been provided the firm foundations to continue a love and appreciation of music.
